Double or nothing: De-RISC was presented twice at the IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks

    Jul 5, 2020

Two of our partners from the consortium attended this virtual conference on June 29th.

Last week, Cobham Gaisler (CG) and Thales Research and Technology (TRT) participated in the Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) organized by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This event has pioneered the fusion between dependability and security research, understanding the need to simultaneously fight against accidental faults, intentional cyber-attacks, design errors, and unexpected operating conditions.

During the first day of the conference, De-RISC was introduced to the attendees in two different lectures of the same workshop: the Workshop on High-Performance Computing platforms for Dependable Autonomous Systems (HPCDAS).

Our colleagues Jan Andersson (CG) and Jimmy LeRun (TRT) provided a good insight on De-RISC’s potential through two inspiring presentations. Cobham Gaisler showed its audience a great overview of De-RISC in a lecture titled “Development of a NOEL-V RISC-V SoC targeting Space Applications”. On the other hand, Thales Research and Technology displayed its presentation named “Open Source Hardware: an opportunity for critical systems”. Both presentations had a good response among the audience, letting the project be successfully introduced among a scientific public.

The entire event was a good opportunity for De-RISC to promote its mission and we are very proud of the excellence that our consortium showed during the conference. Both presentations are still available for participants’ playback here.

Wait for us in the next edition!
