De-RISC becomes part of RISC-V International

    Sep 2, 2020

RISC-V International adds De-RISC to its membership network for their mutual ambition on the development and implementation of free and open RISC-V instruction set architecture.

On August 12th, our project became part of the greatest global nonprofit association promoting open source ISA: RISC-V International. The common motivation to release RISC-V to the open community for both standardization and ongoing improvement through open collaboration becomes the main reason for this collaboration.

RISC-V is a free and open ISA enabling a new era of processor innovation through open standard collaboration. It delivers a new level of free, extensible software and hardware freedom on architecture, paving the way for the next 50 years of computing design and innovation. As a result of the convenient features that this architecture provides, De-RISC’s platform is based on RISC-V, offering  a unique opportunity to develop EU-based products for the aviation and space domains with no dependence on external (non-European) technology or licenses.

This new membership adds value to the De-RISC brand and, at the same time, provides great advantages to the project, such as accelerated development, reduced risk through open source, ratified ISA or support programs. Being part of this association allows the goal alignment for RISC-V International and De-RISC reinforcing the ongoing collective support, facilitation, and advocacy of this open-source ISA.

The De-RISC consortium feels very proud of this new membership and hopes this collaboration leads to the synergic development of RISC-V to ensure its long term strategic viability, proliferation, and adoption.
