Since 2018, RISC-V International annually organizes its main event which highlights the continued rapid expansion of the RISC-V ecosystem.
From December 8th to December 10th 2020, colleagues from the De-RISC project consortium attended the 3rd edition of RISC-V Summit, held online due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. During those three days, over 2,200 participants attended this appointment which represents an unmissable opportunity for technology enthusiasts.
This event organized by RISC-V International promoted the use of this free and open ISA enabling a new era of processor innovation through open standard collaboration. Its agenda included keynote speakers, sponsored tech talks, virtual exhibitions, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities, which contributed to the success of the event.
RISC-V Summit featured different presentations on related developments and our colleague Jaume Abella, from Barcelona Supercomputing Center, was one of the speakers responsible for this task. During his presentation “Tackling safety in space with RISC-V based platforms”, our senior researcher was able to introduce participants to the promising future of De-RISC and its updates during this first year of execution.
Additionally, Cobham Gaisler, the project’s processor provider, introduced De-RISC in one of its presentations and through its panel in the virtual exhibition, catching the attention of several professionals.
We are glad of having been part of this conference and to have shown De-RISC’s potential in such an amazing event!
Hoping to return next year with more updates!
